So have they finalized all the details for seating for 2016? If 22 is now part of the visitors area, where is the Sooner Schooner going to be at during games?
I'm around gents. I'm in oil and gas (equipment engineering), but unlike many others, I'm slammed with work right now. Lots of projects moving forward in spite of what you read in the news.
I keep getting emails and such from the OU athletic department telling me that "time is running out" to give them a lot more money. I was already doing that. To me, it's just like junk mail that says, "You're Approved!". Yeah, approved to give them my money. Screw that. They told long-time loyal OU fans and ticket holders to give their seats to the visitors and told them to go sit in the crappy upper deck or pay (more) dearly to sit in the lower bowl via gi-normous donations. Something is very wrong down there in Norman. But they'll go on with their master plan without me. That's fine.
Here is the skinny:
NORMAN — Oklahoma football season ticket holders seated in some parts of the north, east and northeast sides of Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium will be relocated next season to make room for the new visitor sections.
Several rows in sections 19-22, 226-228 and 233-235 will all be made into visitor sections, OU spokesman Mike Houck confirmed Monday.
The sections reserved for visiting fans must be moved because of the south end zone renovations. OU is adding lots of new premium seating and suites in the south end zone, which is where visiting fans have traditionally sat at the stadium.
Season ticket holders affected by the news received a letter from OU athletic director Joe Castiglione last week explaining the situation. In the letter, Castiglione wrote that after those affected renew their tickets by the March 31 deadline, they will be given a date and time to log on to an online seat selection website and choose new seats.
Two fans who asked to remain anonymous expressed concern to The Oklahoman about having to commit to renewing tickets before knowing where their new seats would be and if a larger donation would be required for them.
Houck said affected fans with such concerns should “contact the Sooner Club and a representative will walk them through the options.”
Here are the sections and rows that will be affected by the new visitors sections.
