As we’d reported previously, the Sooners hosted three-star safety and Wake Forest commit Andy Jaffe on Friday, and things went swimmingly. Although Oklahoma has been pressing for some time to add Michael Boganowski to the safety class, the Sooners are open to taking three at the position and Jaffe is squarely in the mix. He’s got an offer and an invite to return to campus for an official visit. I’m told it’s possible that Jaffe stays committed to Wake Forest, but if he were to flip, it would be to either Oklahoma or Ole Miss.
As Brandon already mentioned, an OU official for Jaffe probably would not take place until the season. But as far as a decision, a source with knowledge of Jaffe’s recruitment told me, “I think this will shake out in the next 2 weeks either way.”
If Oklahoma takes aim at a safety trifecta, be mindful of Jaffe alongside Mykel Patterson-McDonald, Joshua Lair and Justin Denson as official visit season kicks into gear.
