Attended the Waco Connelly v Jasper game on Thursday night (Whitehouse).
Went as guest with a Superintendent friend who coached with the Jasper HC.
Jasper staff was very worried about 2023 RB/Ath recruit Tre Wisner - this was for football purposes a wasted trip: Wisner only handled the ball about 5-6 times (played mostly slot WR but some RB)
One play stood out: 2nd and 10 from the Jasper 22 yd line, Wisner from the slot, in motion takes the fly sweep from the far side to my side (Jasper sideline)….. Jasper sells out and crashes hard on Wisner…. making contact but not tackling him, Wisner spins around and keeping his feet with one hand on the ground races back the other direction…. giving some ground (just past the 30 yd line) to make the angle…. and the runs it in for the first score of the game.
Damn impressive from field level.
Connelly missed the PAT and lost 21-19.
