2022 is here and so we can start to look back on the year that was. the list of adjectives to describe sooner football '21 would exhaust an english professor...from optimistic (pre-season) to confused (early game struggles) to exhilarated (texas) to hopeful (mid-season) to disappointed(late losses) to shocked (lickin riley) and then...rejuvenated (BV). technically the year is over but the hangover from 21 may still linger on as questions about our QB situation remain unresolved. yet i cant resist putting some sort of a bow on what in my memory (1971 ou-nebbie as an 8 yr old to the present) is BY FAR the craziest season we've ever had. how can you top what happened (and is still happening) this year? i feel like a tv ad for a yo-yo with all the ups and down and sideways and loops. it's truly been exhausting and actually verifies what i think is an ancient curse..."may you live in interesting times!" the stability of decades is literally yanked from under our feet in days if not hours and you realize interesting times arent so wonderful at all, and in fact are a curse. here's to BV and his guidance out of the tunnel back to stability. i'm already tired of needing a dictionary for words to describe the pandemonium. that's my last word

Definitely one of the wildest. Preseason #1 in some polls and the #1 rated QB out of HS and Heisman favorite gets replaced by the other #1 HS QB only to see both of them leaving at the end of the year. Not to mention worthless Riley doing what he did and taking all his recruits with him. Then BV coming back home? It was crazy no doubt

2021 was disappointing, yet necessary.
It exposed the team as an underachieving and entitlement-laden one, but it ended Riley's reign, which was necessary for OU's future.
The "good news" for 2022, aside from Venables' hire and OU's recovery with personnel (which is still ongoing), is that OU will not receive the preseason hype it annually gets from the media about being a possible national champion.
My hope is that the team has a dramatic turnaround in terms of attitude and effort and that Venables quickly purges the feeling of entitlement that too many players feel. It starts with defense, then having the 4-star offensive linemen playing up to their billing. There is still enough talent to at least get things rolling to accomplish this turnaround and it starts with attitude and team work. That said, I believe Venables gets it done, but with some bumps and bruises along the way.

Cal delivery of bulletin board material early ! I hope the boys prove that wrong.

ps. How is David ? I spoke with him last August and he assured me he would be back on here but never saw him post since

Some kind of weird triangle...LR headed into the land of phoneys and the divorce capital. Train wreck time. This was for his family...yeah right LR.
can't believe a word LR says. The man made a habit of lying while at OU and people just blew it off as gamesmanship. The man has no credibility

If they win the Big 12, they will be contenders of the playoffs. Jmo
Maybe.
What's important now is to get this team running on all cylinders (recruiting, coaching, winning games) by 2023.
I think 2022 will be a transition year with a few speed bumps along the way. But a year from now, I believe we will be celebrating great recruiting, incoming transfers and an even brighter future.
