Where to begin?

Two possible WR commits, Hardy and Parker, to this point. Hardy is an athlete who's projected to play WR (maybe). Parker is a juco who doesn't have the grades to sign and may or may not qualify to sign in Feb. Check.

This year's OU air raid offense is wildy fun and successful. The Sooners throw it all over the place and have a returning QB who could be the favorite to win the Heisman next year. They also have two graduating starters -- Shepard and Neal, so there are two open spots. There is some depth, numbers, but no true blue chipper waiting in the wings to take over. If you're a talented, play-maker type high school WR, you couldn't possibly have a more attractive school to consider than OU. Heck, they're in the playoffs. They have a long, storied program.

And yet, a few months before signing day, Oklahoma has what has to be considered a very bare plate of prospects at a very important position.

Without being critical of any one coach (because Gundy & Simmons I think are great coaches), how can this be explained? You'd think guys would be lining up in truck loads to play here.

What is it? The curse of the Big12? Baker Mayfield playing with small hands?

Any answers out there? Feel free to contribute if so.
