2016 OU Recruiting Article

Makes perfect sense to me.
The final team rankings were skewed as I thought.
Of course, and I realize the proof is in the pudding on how these guys ultimately play, but uh, this class is as good as any Stoops has landed before. IMO

Caleb Kelly, forget about it. He's our new defensive team leader.

Meh every program in the country I'm sure can make a case of how the rankings were "skewed" and didn't rank their classes correctly. In the end, it's what these kids do on the field that really matter anyways. OU having such a small class worked against them also. According to Rivals, OU has the highest ranked class of any program with less than 20 recruits.

Thanks for parroting exactly what I said. You're good.

Caleb Kelly is the lone 5-star recruit in the entire Big 12 Conference.
While he is just one single recruit....and while rating systems are an inexact science....it does not reflect well on the conference's appeal to elite recruits.
As far as OU goes, Kelly's recruitment yields optimism that Stoops can, once again, land an elite player....and can get a good share of 4-star players to boot.
It seems that Kelly's recruitment has overshadowed the 2016 recruiting class in the eyes of so many. Had he gone elsewhere, the doom and gloom here would have been as thick as London fog.

I do not know about star rankings, but I think the best recruit in the conference. And he signed with Texas. Josh said he was the best linebacker he had seen in San Antonio in five years. Watching the tape on him, he is a stud. Now there is more to it than being big and strong and fast and being a devastating hitter. But it is a great start. Forget the name. But he made up his mind the night before signing day.

Not only that, but Kelly is the 2nd 5-star recruit in 3 years. This class looked shaky in the weeks leading up to signing day, but it closed very well. I like this class, irregardless of the rankings.

I believe the LB you referred to is Erick Fowler.

I found it interesting where the Rivals 100 went. I believe that we got 3 (Kelly, Kendall and M. Jones), and Texas got 3 (Fowler, Christmas-Giles and B. Jones). But, there were 11 players from Texas in the Rivals 100 and Texas only got 2 of them. 3 signed LOIs with Baylor, 2 with Ole Miss, and 1 each with Houston, Stanford, Florida and aTm.

I don't think Texas signed anyone from San Antonio. I guess Erick Fowler is maybe right. He's from Manor which is outside Austin. I didn't read any of the Texas fans touting him the way they praised Malik Jefferson was last year. He was committed to LSU till the very end then flipped to Charlie the magician.

You're absolute-idly-dudily correct. It's NEVER that bad. :)
I had a bad day not too long ago.
I'll define bad day as 24 hours.
Flew in to Ft Lauderdale Dec 30, 2015. Plane was late arriving. Luggage was an hour later arriving.
Decided to rent car, check in to hotel then back to the airport to pick up late luggage.
Arriving back at FLL around midnight, there were at least 5,000 cars trying to go through customer pick up.
Took forever to get luggage.
Next morning got up drove around a little then headed to the Orange Bowl.
Went in to see the Sooners and Clemson Tigers duke it out in a semi-final game.
End of the 1st qtr, started feeling really bad. Ended up, I had food poisoning.
Must have come from the stadium pretzel I ate.
Stayed for the entire game.
Sooners got their asses handed to them in the second half of the game.
NOT a good 24 hours.
And it WAS that bad!
:confused::eek:;)

My gawd man...you win.
The compounding negativity of all that is staggering. Wow!

Plaino I don't know what you're saying in your post? Oklahoma got Mark Jackson from Cibilo Steele which is pretty much San Antonio he was an A&M commit and switched but he was a couple weeks before. Inquiring mind wants to know or I could be a dumb ass for not comprehending the post. Simple it down for me please

Best linebacker in San Antonio Josh meant at the Army All Star game. So in other words, the best linebacker in the country in five years.

It was indeed Erick Fowler. Even with the best players in the country there, he looked like a man playing with boys. An elite player.

Plaino that is the one from Manor and that's local as Perine was at Pflugerville. I'm thinking he's the one that could eventually end up at defensive end. Anyway Austin is becoming a Metroplex with all the stinking growth. I miss the hippie days and the Armadillo World Head Quarters. I would get the heck out of here if I was young. Those young dumb asses are moving here in droves
Anything else you all want to know. I apologize but Jack Herer came by tonight and I always enjoy his company.
