The communication between Oklahoma and three-star Saline, Mich., QB Joshua Jackson has been heating up in recent weeks and tonight Jackson told me he has scheduled to visit Norman during his spring break.

Jackson does not hold an offer from the Sooners yet, but the conversations between he and Lincoln Riley have given him a sense that OU's interest is more than just fleeting... and as recruits go, he would certainly know more than most. His father is former Michigan asst. coach Fred Jackson who was on that staff going back more than 20 years (coached alongside Jerry Montgomery and Joshua and I discussed that connection tonight, but it appears to have zero bearing on this recruitment because OU's interest started after Montgomery left for the Packers).

We have Jackson as the No. 18 dual-threat QB in the 2016 class and I would not be surprised to see him rise in that ranking by the end of the year. He came on strong as his junior season progressed and is a high upside guy who also proved to be a winner and a strong leader this past season for a team that played in the state championship. In short, definitely sounds like a recruitment to continue watching. I'll have more in an article tomorrow, but wanted to drop the note about his visit here tonight.
