Here's a little OU-fandom tidbit that some of you probably remember but others don't. Maybe you were too young, so this is for you. Sooner fans were lit up and on-fire about the Sooners chances much like we are seeing happen now. The big difference is, in 2000 we were undefeated and controlled our own destiny. Not the case right now. But the same excitement that was in the air back then... I feel it now. Now all we need are the THOUSANDS of OU car flags all over the city. They were everywhere.

I actually don't care for this song (the original or this parody), and I even risk you guys thinking I'm totally ghey for posting it, but the lyrics are very cool. I was reminded of this song with the great win we saw last night. It's a blast from the past.

Well the Sooners were down, the Sooners were slumping.
Ain't nobody having a ball.
Then Stoops came along the wins started coming.
And the fans again yelled the call... BOOOMER! SOOONER!

Above and beyond, the butt whippin' is on,
Heuple is looking for a place to put his Heisman.
Stoop men intend to be champs again.
We ain't been this good since the Boz.
Get ready Crimson and Cream
On the national scene
Nobody gonna stop this scoring machine,
And in the end we'll yell "Whos #1 in the land?"
OOOOOOOOOO U!"

I'm thinkin' about flying dual OU flags on my Wrangler this week. Problem is... I'll need to disconnect the door cables to the back doors or I'll for sure hit the window buttons and loose them at 70 MPH.
