The Athletic ran a story recently on how a 12-team playoff under the proposed system would've looked since the beginning of the BCS.
I think the new look SEC will get three teams in every year, and sometimes four. With the addition of a 9th conference game, OU/Texas expansion, and a revised scheduling format, SEC standings will be even more spread out. Tougher games, more often. I'm sure we'll see a 3-loss SEC team get into the playoff.
