100 Years Ago, Oklahoma was Running the Spread

I watched an old Tony Curtis movie. In the huddle, QB Tony Curtis told a halfback, "I'm going to make a hero out of you. Just follow me."

Curtis took the snap, ran left, cut up field and picked up about 20 yards, then pitched to the trailing halfback who scored. Curtis ran the triple option play in a movie, long before Jack Mildren ran the same play.

I saw that movie, too and now that I think about it, you're right. Curtis didn't looked that athletic as I recall even with Frank Gifford's help. Frank was a young stud with Giants at the time and was hired to consult for the movie. But Tony was much more athletic than Anthony Perkins when he played Jimmy Piersall in the movie about his career and bipolar issues. Perkins made me look like The Mick.
