Folks, this is eerily similar to our National Championship run in 2000. Just some observations for thought:
(1) Started the season in the lower Top 25
(2) Had a game that one play could have decided the season (Marshall's interception against A&M vs. Parker's deflection against TCU)
(3) Successfully navigated a brutal run where we blistered three top ranked teams in succession
(4) Won the Big 12 Conference title
(5) Labeled the underdog in the NCG against a powerful FSU team in the middle of a dynasty
(6) Team led by a salty, motivated QB that was just a total gamer
(7) Not really stacked with "elite" talent, but had a team full of junkyard dogs with great chemistry and a hunger to win
(8) Great coaching throughout the year and no major injuries
(9) Operated a similar offensive scheme and played an aggressive defense
(10) The national media never respected us until the end, and never really gave us a puncher's chance to win it all
Have I missed anything?
