It could have been worse. We could have been 56-3 and not gotten even a 16 seed.

When I was covering Plano Wildcat football, back in the days when that mattered, one year, 1977 I think, they weren't in the top 10 entering the playoffs. Then some foolish newspaper ranked the top 10 when Plano was in the state semifinals, but was ranked out of the top four. So after they won state, some sign was held up in the Maroon section asking, "Where will be ranked now that there is no one left to beat?"

Patty Gasso might have asked that of the committee when they were handing out the winners trophies tonight. WHERE WOULD YOU SEED US, NOW?
