What to expect from the game tonight ?

Watched JA in last year's High School Championship game. He was the team. They would run plays from the playbook on first and second down. Then, on third down, it was like the call was "Get us a first down, Jackson". His legs were the MVP in Denton last year. Hope it doesn't come to that, but...

    OU MBB

Yeah - I'm surprised I didn't get crucified over this post. Looks like the Gallagher debacle was just the beginning. A few good showings have been wiped out by the recent embarrassments. I like PM and think he could be the right guy for us. Just hope another school doesn't see his worth and lure...

    OU MBB

This team is very close. It is certainly frustrating to see them play so well, then have a lapse that truly costs them a chance to win (the loss at Gallagher not withstanding). I think Joe C has hit a 2 run homer with his most recent BB coaching hires. I think both teams are going to be...

    Wheels Coming Off in Stillwater?

Right on all comments. The last comment reminds me of Dave Rader at TU. Dave had success at TU, by TU standards. He would still be there if TU had let him stay. TU wanted to take the next step and forced the prodigal son out. Unfortuately, that step was backward and they have not seen Rader's...

    I guess fellating Tom Brady...

OK. Tebow didn't get penalized for praying. But, I still stopped following the NFL when the leadership decided not only to allow wokeism, but actually encouraged it. Done and won't go back.

    Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas. And Happy New Year. Hoping 2023 is better for those who struggled in 2022.

    I guess fellating Tom Brady...

Assume this has something to do with the NFL??? Haven't watched a game since the pros not only condoned "wokeism", but actually encouraged it. I'm not an overly religious person, but when Tebow gets penalized (or worse) for kneeling in personal reverence and the rest of the league is encouraged...

    Cheeze-It Bowl

Needs to have that conversation with the coaches about 5 minutes before having it with the players.

Caleb Williams is one classy dude

Same here. I never heard of him doing it. Would like to believe I found it just as disgusting and thought it just as bad on LR's part. Maybe there is a reason Riley left and it had nothing to do with USC. Maybe he was told to clean it up or leave and he chose door #2.

So we get FSU in Orlando?

Florida State beat LSU this year. Unusual matchup, to say the least. But, a real opportunity for OU.

    wease

Correct. He got a Title in golf at Georgia and a Title in Football at Oklahoma. His brother is OU's Head golf coach.

Anyone remember what is unique about Nate Hybl (College athletic career)?

Kelvin Sampson and the Phi Slama Jama

I've followed KS since his OU days. He is a great coach. He can make a bunch of no-names competitive with future NBA players. That is coaching. Just wish he had been a little smarter about NCAA rules and had a desire to adhere to them. I wonder if it wasn't about $$$. Lots of college coaches...

Scholarships are still one year commitments. Schools do not want to get a reputation of being schools that will leave kids hanging from year to year. But, I think they do encourage players to look for better situations, if they do not seem to be players who will play for OU. Venables has already...

    Bedlam

I think it was a good thing for OU's defense. They defended 102 plays and had enough at the end to stifle the OSU threat. Toward the end of the 3rd quarter, I was afraid fatigue was going to be our enemy. D played well, even on play 102.

    2023 Recruits

That is exactly how the NIL suit went. Courts wouldn't allow a cap. I think what is being suggested here would be more like the NCAA approving Pay-for-play and putting a limit on the amount. I still say NIL and PFP are 2 different things and the NCAA failed miserably in keeping them separate.

    Honest OU-OSU predictions

I'm thinking Mike caused OU to tear that page out of their Coaches Manual. 😁

    2023 Recruits

Agree on the courts. Maybe it should have been the NCAA who defined NIL and continued to enforce the Pay-for-play rules. However, expecting the NCAA to do much intelligent is like trying to insist on courts doing something. I still believe the NCAA has signed their own death warrant.

    2023 Recruits

Plaino - I have laid out my opinion on NIL and you guys may be tired of hearing it, but, because of the way you have your post worded, I'll do it once again. The NCAA has shown to be incompetent for more years than most on this board have been around. Guys like me and you saw it happen when OU...

What's the situation with RB Gavin Sawchuk ?

In this day and age, I don't think red-shirting a healthy player makes sense. if they are good, they wont be here 5 years. A redshirt year, in most cases, is just a waste of a year. Get what you can from him while he is here. Football, that is.
