Football Jalil Farooq became a 'better man' after dealing with foot injury

Monday was our first opportunity to talk to Jalil Farooq in months, and he was pretty candid about his struggles recovering from a foot injury.

OMG the Jayden Jackson interview

NOTE: We love John Hoover. He is a great friend to Parker and I and one of the best to do it, but we have a Jayden Jackson interview up as well so I changed it to ours for obvious reasons.

While everyone is at it, I would like to thank you all for the massive support you all have given us on YouTube for podcasts, post-practice blitzes, interviews, pressers and quick slants. It's been amazing and the growth has been phenomenal. Those that haven't, please, subscribe to OUinsider YouTube (click link on Jayden Jackson and subscribe right there). It's FREE and allows us to bring to more content here because we get more revenue from that side of our revenue stream each month if you go and view our stuff!!!

No, it's not insider information like here, but it's another way to supplement all of our content, travel and business expenses that we accrue bringing the best coverage we possibly can for you all. So the more that supports that stuff, the better the content will be on here! Thank you all again!

BV had a lot of praise for Brenen Thompson during Monday's presser.

Included in this notepad are nuggets on Peyton Bowen and Billy Bowman on special teams, and Gavin Sawchuk and Jovantae Barnes being listed as co-starters.

Temple game week

Football is here!!!
I thought it would be cool for us to list a couple things on all sides of the ball that we are looking to see. Here's mine.

Offense:
I'd like to see Jackson confidently stand in the pocket and deliver accurate balls.

We all know Coach B. will play with his oline in the first game. Either way against Temple I want to see our oline firmly in control and little to no penalties.

Defense:
I'd like to see our dline dominate temple as they should and have limited penalties.

I'd like to see us hold Temple under 75 rushing yards, under 150 passing yards and under 200 total yards.

Special teams:
I would like to see Schmidt confidently make field goals down the middle. There shouldn't be any misses or barely clearing uprights in what should be the lowest stress environment he's going to see this year.

I'd like to see us setting up getting kickoff returns that have a chance to be broke. It has seemed the last couple years like our returns are a battle to get to the 20. Same with punt returns. I'd love to see a couple we return for 12-15 yds.

Football This year's O-line has changed things for Bedenbaugh and the 'no-fun zone'

One of the funniest moments from today? BV referring to Bedenbaugh as the "no-fun zone"

But... Venables thinks this year's offensive line has been a fun group for Bedenbaugh to coach.

13:15 - Special teams… special plays… special players! Also, Bowman and Bowen returning kicks/punts? PTSD last time Bowman did that in 2022? How can that be allowed? We break it down!

Jaren Kanak

BV mentioned that Kip Lewis and Lewis Carter have a chance to be pretty good. Kobie Mckinzie is the back up for Stutsman. With the broadcaster mentioning Kanak might not be able to play LB at OU and from the looks of it the younger guys are just better. Will we see Kanak get any meaningful minutes this year or has ship sailed on playing LB at OU? He had good potential his freshman year but just seems like he didn’t progress.
