Does Venables want to be fired

If we are actually rolling w Jackson again he is committing coaching malpractice

What kind of message does that send? Hawkins outplayed Jackson. Aside from 1 quarter he did not commit any egregious errors in 3 games.

Jackson commits an egregious error about 15% of the plays.

Unacceptable.

Does Venables want to be fired?

Basketball Injury update ahead of today’s game against Stetson

— I’m told that Brycen Goodine has participated in 5-on-0 drills during practice but has not been involved in any contact drills. Given his lack of contact participation, it’s safe to assume he won’t be playing today.

— The starting five will remain the same as last game; however, I’ve been informed that Jeremiah Fears starting is inevitable—just not happening today.

NIL Madness !

Per Sports Radio 100.9–The Mitt

Michigan is reportedly prepared to offer a $10.5 million

NIL package to Bryce Underwood, the No.1 Ranked Player and QB in the country

The offer would make him the highest paid NIL athlete in history, surpassing Shedeur Sanders whose estimated NIL deals are worth a combined $5.6 million.

The Bellville, Michigan native QB is currently committed to LSU. He attended the LSU vs Alabama game over the weekend in Baton Rouge.

Question for Libby/PT/BD

two actually …
1. i saw we offered tristen keys the 5 star receiver from MS .. what’s the chances for us to get his commitment do u think and who are his current front runners if u wouldn’t mind?

2. saw jaden o neal is visiting colorado this weekend … is this going to be an issue either with the staff policy / or just colorado actually flipping him?? what’s the word there? thanks!

2023 Recruiting class

Some say that Arnold may be the one of the worst 5-star qb's to come out of high school, but going back and looking at that entire recruiting class, its kinda disappointing. I believe that class was a top 5 class (#8 transfer), going down the list 3 or 4 of them are no longer on the team. None of the guys have really stood out, 5-star PJ Adebawore, 5-star Jackson Arnold, 5-star Peyton Bowen, all these havent lived up to the hype. The OL in particular havent been good, Green is at Mizzu, Howland, Bates, Ozaeta havent developed. Hopefully this class can stay together and develop over the offseason. OU has tons of talented players, this class in particular needs to figure it out, if they do not it will be another long season next year.

Football Midweek Mailbag: OC shortlist, softball pitchers and the Chili Peppers

Thanks to everyone who submitted questions (and thanks to @Parker Thune for throwing me a bone with an RHCP question).

If BV is fired OU will be non competitive in NIL for 2 seasons

BVs buyout is $45M, plus all the assistants buyouts is another $5-8M. Thats $50+ million that we don’t just have laying around. That will have to come from somewhere. Just saying, for all those saying he should be fired now well fine, but you’ll have to shell out serious $ for any new coach worth having which will be another huge expenditure. NIL will suffer massively. The new staff will have a dog shit roster for at least 2 years if not more

Hypothetical Situation/Question

Maybe this discussion can help those like me who are confused at the prospect of this given scenario.

QB play hasn’t been where we would like it to be, coaching, injuries, OLine play etc… it hasn’t been very consistent and personally I think Hawkins is better than Arnold. Neither here nor there.

If we brought in Arbuckle and John Mateer, I see a lot of people that are saying that Hawkins would transfer, but I don’t understand why, nothing would change with Hawkins timeline to originally be the guy when first signed to be a Sooner. He always knew that he would be behind JA for two years before JA’s struggles. If we bring in a proven vet like Mateer, he sits and learns under him for a year and if everything falls into place he is poised for a breakout RS JR year.

What are y’all’s thoughts on this potential situation that we could find our QB room in the next month.
