OU Decade in Review: Favorite Conspiracy Theory

There is a thread on this over at the CFB subreddit, but it's like wading through a TFB open post for stories, and I am not trying to give my work computer the AIDS.

What're your favorite OU conspiracy stories from the last decade? Just to kick things off....

-Mixon situation
-Mike Stoops v Curtis Bolton (RRR 2018)
-Mike Stoops v Julian Wilson (Baylor game 2014)

Observation

It feels like we have been over achieving with average teams which is why we get smoked in big games. For example...This team is probably more like a 7-5 or 8-4 team that keeps getting to the playoffs because of schemes, strategies, a couple of breaks and the fact that the Big 12 doesn't offer elite competition. We're a neighborhood bully that keeps getting thumped with each attempt at the MMA. If we can keep recruiting good and keep Grinch I believe we can get there. We're at least 2 more seasons away though.

What would Saban had done?

If he were coaching OU last night, would he have pulled Hurts again like he did at Bama? It seemed a strange situation for LR. This kid was pulled once on the big stage. Does he do it again? Surely that didn't settle in his mind. Surely he'd put the team before an individual, right? I mean when you see that it is over, and it was over at half time, you try and mix it up - do something to bring a spark. Even if Rattler sucked, at least you tried and then put Hurts back in.

I'm just glad this season is over, Hurts is gone, most of FUMS recruits are fading away, and OU can become what it needs to become - a champion again.

Anyone tired of reading that LSU is recruiting harder?

Last night was a vivid picture of how far below the top 3 teams our talent level is currently. Yet we hear too recruits frequently saying “LSU is recruiting me the hardest.” We hear the same about several teams that are getting better recruits than we are. What’s it gonna take for our coaching staff to see that they need to out-work the competition on the recruiting trail if they want to upgrade the talent and compete on the field against the top teams?
THAT issue is what most concerns me about LR and this staff. That approach to recruiting is what got us into this ditch to begin with.

Suspensions that we know about right now

We have confirmed through multiple sources that Rhamondre Stevenson, Ronnie Perkins and Trejan Bridges have been suspended for the Peach Bowl.

We can also confirm that those are the biggest names that are going to serve suspensions for the bowl game. Any rumors of key contributors other than those three players are just that.

Lincoln Riley is currently handling his signing day press conference but declined to address the rumors of the suspensions. He was asked if Kennedy Brooks would play in the bowl game. That question was followed up by a question about whether Rhamondre Stevenson would play in the bowl game.

His answer to that question was "Kennedy Brooks will play in the bowl game."

More to come throughout the afternoon.

Riley just declined to comment on Ronnie Perkins or any other player.

NSD-Night Thread

Alright guys, it's that time of year again, get your NSD night questions in.

But first, a few things to try and alleviate this being 600 questions long and taking me the better part of a week to get through.

First, let's start with the madness of the past few hours...

A) I hear what some of you are saying, I was on Twitter too much and not on the board enough - it's a fair beef and I'll be more mindful of it next time. Trust me when I say it was NOT a conscious action, just kind of happened that way.

Today was a bit chaotic and I felt like I was playing catch up all day and as such I wasn't always as locked in as I should have been, again, that's just on me.

B) What I don't think is fair is that we weren't giving you all content/things to read/etc. We've got a LOT more coming but it was a hellaciously big day of content for us.

C) As far as notes, as far as the Ruffin gif, that's not something that will be out for a bit and at the time I had expected to say the same of some of the news around Eaton - though I'll FULLY admit I didn't have him going as far down the road as he did tonight. There are several things that aren't out there and I'm not going to step on sources to betray that - I just can't. But trust me, there is more good news coming, and no that is not a promise of five-stars to come, etc.

OK, I hope that covers some of the grievances and if you have others PLEASE feel free to message me - that's a much more direct way to converse with me and, to me, always comes more as someone trying to open a dialogue than something that will just start ugliness raining down on my head.

OK, so let's get to more of the fun stuff...

1) No, I can't tell you who the dance move was for but I can tell you it was NOT Josh Eaton.

2) I feel very, very good about where Oklahoma is with Reggie Grimes.

3) No, Dontae Manning is no longer in play for Oklahoma.

OK, so those key pieces all handled...let's get the questions going.
