Beyond Injuries

Between Joe Jon and Seth you’re payin close to $2 million this year for this shit? You know what you could get for $2 million a year at OC? I'm done with the injuries BS at WR. You should still be able to scheme or game plan more than 3 ****in points with 2 weeks off and not be the worst P4 offense in the country. Brent’s choice to not have a national search for the best OC possible after Lebby left was a horrible decision. Zero chance Seth/Joe John were the best he could go get for this team.

Here’s where we’re at….

1. This year will be a 6-6 or a 7-5 year at best. First year in the SEC woes and a lot of injuries didn’t help things either.

2. Seth litrell no matter injuries or execution isn’t it. Good coaches can find ways to scheme or help offenses make things happen. Not 3 points with 6 short fields.
Go get a GREAT offensive mind to be OC and you tell BB that this O line things can never happen again… I get Cayden green wasn’t expected and neither was Raym but it’s ur job as a coach to be prepared for that
scenario.

3. BV isn’t on the hot seat nor should anyone be calling for his job… this is by far the BEST defense I have ever seen in my lifetime at OU… and if that continues it’s only a matter of time before the offense gets fixed and this team is top 5 again…

4. We’re gonna have decommits I would assume as well as guys portal. Don’t freak out when it happens… let the staff replace and find kids that fit. ( ELI Bowen was a 3 star that a lot of people didn’t think was very good… he was our best player Saturday by far…)

@Parker Thune @Brandon Drumm thank you guys for all you do! I know it’s not always easy cause some Info can’t be put out there all the time so I appreciate it!

EPL and Brooks

Not sure I’ve ever started a post but this game was the final straw. Anyone can see this O line is not good. And not going to get better. I say you play these two freshmen to 1) get them experience for next year and 2) to keep them on the team. You can’t tell me they are watching this and not saying “this line play blows and I can’t play more, portal here I come”

BV needs to step up and tell his coaches to make changes, we need to know what we have for next year.

And side note, did Hawkins really run it 20 times and Tatum twice? That’s really asinine, Tatum will leave too for same reason above.

I’ve been a fan since 1971, have seen some bad bad years, so I say play the young guys, the older guys can’t get it done.

Embarrassed

I am fairly young, only 27, so I never lived through some of the rough patches only the good times.
BUT I do not remember EVER being/feeling embarrassed to be a fan of my Sooners.

We are OKLAHOMA, I cannot for the life of me understand why we are not competing for a NC every year.

We have the S&C coach we wanted, we have the Defensive head coach whos won at Clemson and yet we still look and feel smaller than every big progrum out there. . .

Littrell and Recruits

If I were a recruit, I wouldn’t necessarily look at how well the team is doing at that moment but, it matters some. What it looks like for me as a player and how I would fit into the scheme, playing time, development, etc, is what really matters to most I assume. And of course, “the bag”. I’m sure everyone is different.

With that being said, when an offensive player is being recruited at this moment by Oklahoma and they look at OU’s offensive identity or the lack of an identity, it would definitely make me to start thinking about other options.

Players want to be developed and/or used in a way that highlight their abilities. There is not one position on offense right now where anyone can say “I can’t wait to go showcase what I can do” outside of the offensive line. I don’t think anyone has Seth Littrell on their radar as an OC they’d want to come play for. Kids wanted to play for Bob Stoops and Oklahoma; under Leach, Mangino, Long, Wilson, Heupel, Riley, Gundy and Lebby.

Seth Littrell has had 8 weeks, technically he’s had 1 full year the end of next month to implement his legacy as an OC. To install an offensive strategy that can at the very least move the ball consistently against opponents. Instead this team has struggled from the jump, week in and week out with the likes of Houston and Tulane. Losing games the defense has done all they could to keep us in as long as they could to Tennessee and Texas and nearly losing to a down and out Auburn.

I don’t expect BV to fire his OC mid-season but, if BV wants to avoid the hot seat after it’s end he will replace Littrell with someone else. And find someone that knows how to move the ball downfield.
