*OK so one of the more interesting storylines that has emerged as the coaching carousel turns and that is the talk around Texas A&M defensive line coach
Elijah Robinson.
For those who haven't been following along one of the country's most successful defensive line recruiters in the last three cycles is giving some strange indications of an interest in coaching at Nebraska. He's made some follows, some likes, etc. that seem to have no connection to College Station.
Could he really be looking around?
Well, no one is quite sure but one thing that is abundantly clear is that much like
Brent Venables's pursuit of
Todd Bates last year
Matt Rhule is going to make Robinson one of his absolute focuses.
"He's going to throw the kitchen sink at (Robinson)," a source said.
Now, it might seem foolish to leave the Aggies, and all of his acquired talent, for a program that has been on the slide for a while but Robinson and Rhule go back and the new head man in Lincoln's success is hard to deny.
If Robinson leaves there's reason to believe it could further open the door with five-star defensive tackle
David Hicks as well as present the current A&M defensive line roster - an absolutely loaded group - with some decisions to make.
Let's see where it goes but if Robinson heads to Lincoln there are a lot of interesting connections to Oklahoma.
**Further talk of the portal? I've had multiple conversations and there is no doubt that Arkansas portal entry
Myles Slusher is all about another chance to play at Oklahoma, he comes from a family of Sooner fans and whatever bad blood existed with the last staff's lack of recruiting attention it seems that the current group may see a chance to see a highly-experienced defender join the roster.
Now whether that's an angle that Oklahoma is going to be full go on? I'm not quite sure yet. I think he's a player the Sooners have some interest in and absolutely could be part of the 2023 roster but I think there are questions of who will leave Oklahoma's roster before that can be fully answered.
But again, should the Sooners want to fully pursue him, expect Slusher in Norman.
***Alright guys, it's that time of year to take stock of Oklahoma's commitments and what is to come for them both in All-American Games as well as early enrollment.
