In a stadium that is not a quarter full. Most of us would call this the round of 16. Funny, because the four team round robin looked pretty sold out, but since they don't give you locations until after all the round robin play, so people don't know where they might be in the whole country. The upper deck on both sides seems close to empty.

Pretty stark contrast in the crowd to the three previous games. If they win this one, which they are favored to do, I assume that the location of the rest of the games have a predetermined location.

You could "sit on the 50" for this game and likely pay under face value. Seems kind of strange for what is supposed to be an elite event in women's sports, worldwide.

Just a prediction. In their last five halves, the US has scored one total goal and surrendered zero. Their offense is pretty anemic. If this ends up tied and goes to penalty kicks, the goalie from Columbia is very athletic. The US needs to win this in regulation. And if they advance, their best offensive player in the tournament so far will be sitting because of her second yellow card, on a serious flop. This official seems to fall for just about any flop. LeBron has nothing on the women from Columbia.

Well that prediction became obsolete. In the first two minutes of the second half, Columbia's young goalie got a red card in the box. The US actually missed the penalty kick, but it meant Columbia had to go with their other goalie and play 10 on 11. The US scored five minutes later and then got penalty in the box which the US converted for a 2-0 lead. With 12 minutes left, and up a player, the US should advance pretty easily.

But again, in their most effective offensive player so far, Megan Rapinoe will sit the next game. So they will make the quarterfinals, unless something strange happens. They would face China.
