May as well get this started this year.

Adding the AJ Hoffman/Scott Seidenberg College football podcast notes below:
(7 games for Saturday)

Nebraska (-13.5) v. Northwestern (in Ireland)
Thoughts from AJ. Nebraska could have fired Scott Frost and been, meh. Best 3-win team in the country.
Casey Thompson and upgrade over Adrian Martinez? Yes. Adrian Martinez stinks. They added some WRs from other big schools. Hiring Mark Whipple was the OC at Pitt. Biggest upgrade.
Scott says, OL are getting worked way more. Thinks it is going to be slower than people think, which plays into NW style. Also likes the under.

(AJ leans Nebraska, Scott leans NW)

Charlotte @ FAU (-7/59.5)
Last year FAU crushed Charlotte. FAU has better returning production.
Scott likes FAU to just win the game, but would not go too crazy about a touchdown.
AJ says Charlotte will be better, based on returning. But their offense was still meh and their defense was atrocious. FAU OL returns 4 out of 5. Good Miami transfer. Good WRs, good running game

(AJ leans FAU+over, Scott leans FAU)

UConn (+27.5/63) @ Utah St.
AJ likes UConn. They are not the worst, but still not bottom. He likes Jim Mora Jr. QB Taquon Roberson from Penn State may keep it within 4 TDs. USU lost most their defense. USU has Bama on deck.
Scott says, if UConn's offense has improved...then you have to consider the over.

(AJ leans UConn, Scott leans over)

Wyoming(+11/43.5) @ Illinois
AJ likes the under in this game, but at 44...not 43.5 as much.
Scott think Illinois is a much better team. They finally have a QB who can pass. New OC that could throw the ball down the field. Wyoming lost their best players via transfer.

(AJ not playing a side, Scott not playing side either)

Vanderbilt (-8) @ Hawaii
AJ says biggest discrepancy via TARP. Vandy bringing back a ton of production. Hawaii brings back 5 starters. Hawaii will be too young. Vandy has SEC talent.
Scott says this line is moving. From -2.5 to -8.5! Lot of hope around Vanderbilt. Hawaii not running the ball. Vanderbilt should score of lots of turnovers.

(AJ likes Vanderbilt, Scott likes Vanderbilt)

BEST BETS

Nevada (-9) @ New Mexico St
Scott thinks this is ugh, but likes NMSU and the points and will play ML as well. Line opened up at -14.5 and is down to -9. Nevada lost more than Hawaii. Horrible TARP rating. Jay Norvell took everyone.
Nevada's last recruiting classes were ranked 119th/120th. NMSU has a BigTen coach, well respected and can turn teams around. Did it at Minnesota. NMSU will be a better coached team.
AJ says sharp money is on NMSU for sure. The problem with a coach who likes to run the ball and play defense...NMSU has one of the worst defenses. Nevada did hit the transfer portal hard too.

Scott's best bet. (NMSU +9, sprinkle a little on NMSU ML, NMSU 1H(+5) as well)

North Texas @ UTEP pk (U55)
AJ loves the total. Under 55. Last game was a grind. Thinks UTEP is worse offensively than they were a year ago. UTEP wants to run, but lost their WR. UNT has a good LB core. Doesnt see either offense running it up like last year. Doesn't see enough improvement from either team to see the total twice as much as it was last year.
Scott think UTEP has a good set of rushers and good defense.

AJ loves U55
